Re: 97'Kawasaki ZZR 1100 vs 98'Honda CBR 1100 XX Super Blackbird
Well, the ZZR-1100 aka ZX-11 was just about equal to the CBR1100XX Blackbird in speed and such. They both hit around 175-178mph top speed and they both ran 10.1-10.3 with a pro rider in the mags. It's like choosing between the ZX-12R or Hayabusa....basically the same fookin' thing power and speed wise. The difference between the ZZR and CBR came when you were not looking at power and speed. The CBR handled better, looked better, was lighter, came with more refinement all around.
In a race, it would come down to who felt lucky that day.....overall, I'd go with the CBR if I had to choose one over the other. (and that's coming from a Kawasaki man).
Oh and as for the Superblackbird...it's the exact same as the regular blackbird aka CBR1100XX only it was upgraded with fuel injection then branded "super". No power gain, just a slightly smoother powerband.
Now if you want Kawasaki's answer to the CBR1100XX "Superblackbird"...check out the ZZR-1200...it smacks up the CBR in the performance category. |
